Power is weird. The Centurion is someone who i think understood that - he had power, but not really. How do believers in positions of power and privilege understand and navigate their relationship in the world?
lyrics
Wave My hand, yeah they all run after that
Drop out my name, yeah, and put on my best hat
Fill up my cup and load my plate with all the fat
But I’m nowhere near the top cat, no where near...
Yeah I’m In (but I’m out)
But I’m in (and I’m out)
Am I in (while I’m out)?
Yeah I’m out, but I’m in, but I’m in
I got a hundred to command well have you heard
But there’s no way that I turn death with just a word
Oh so much useless power, yeah ain’t that absurd
But here it’s my heart that’s been cured, here’s my heart….
Yeah I’m In (but I’m out)
But I’m in (and I’m out)
Am I in (while I’m out)?
Yeah I’m out, but I’m in, but I’m in
How much power, How much lack can I bring?
This broken life under a sword on a string
What hope could I get in this world where I cling
What sort of privileged is left for me here?
When all those out in front will all take up the rear
And all the while I sit where angels long to peer
What’s left now that I fear? What should I fear?
Yeah I’m In (but I’m out)
But I’m in (and I’m out)
Am I in (while I’m out)?
Yeah I’m out, but I’m in, but I’m in
